AEO & SEO Content Strategy

Win the answer engine by matching the community's exact questions.

Based on 15,027 public Reddit posts, we extracted the verbatim phrasing people use when they search for fertility, prenatal, and postnatal guidance. This strategy flips traditional SEO: instead of targeting broad head terms like "prenatal vitamins", we target the highly specific, anxiety-driven questions couples actually ask.

01 · AEO & SEO Thesis

Stop competing for "best prenatal." Answer the specific anxieties.

When couples turn to Reddit or Answer Engines (like Perplexity/ChatGPT), they use conversational, long-tail queries. They don't search for "folate vs folic acid" in a vacuum; they search for "why did my doctor say folic acid but Reddit says methylfolate?". WeNatal's content strategy must mirror these exact conversational intents to capture high-intent users before they default to mass-market brands.

02 · Search Intent Clusters

Four intents drive almost everything.

Grouping the extracted search_phrasing field collapses hundreds of long-tail queries into four buyer intents. Counts are directional indexes from the corpus, ranked by demand and ordered by proximity to a WeNatal purchase.

Intent clusterIndexed queriesWhat they are really askingWeNatal role
Preconception & TTC timing329"When do we start, and what do we do before trying?"Primary wedge — couples checklist
Nausea, HG & tolerability193"I can't keep a prenatal down — what now?"High-empathy capture, format guidance
Postnatal & fourth trimester177"Why am I depleted, and how do I recover?"Lifecycle retention lane
Fertility difficulty & labs66"It's not working — which tests and specialists?"Trust-building explainers, no overclaiming

Why this matters for AEO: answer engines cluster intent before they pick sources. Owning the whole cluster (not a single keyword) is what makes WeNatal the entity an LLM reaches for when it summarizes "how to prepare before TTC."

03 · Top Verbatim Search Phrasing

The AEO Hit List

These are the most common exact and near-exact phrases extracted directly from the corpus. Use these as H2s in articles and verbatim prompts for AEO testing.

04 · Content Pillars

Information Architecture

Organize the WeNatal blog and learning center around these four core pillars mapped to the community data.

1. The "90 Days Before" Checklist (Couples TTC)

Intent: Action-oriented preparation.
Topics: When to start prenatals, male partner's role, CoQ10 timing, sperm and egg health.

2. Demystifying the Label (Prenatal Choice)

Intent: Breaking choice paralysis.
Topics: Methylfolate vs. folic acid, choline requirements, why iron is missing/present, pill size and tolerability.

3. Navigating Nausea & First Trimester (Tolerability)

Intent: Survival and symptom relief.
Topics: HG support, alternatives to giant pills, what to do if you can't keep your prenatal down, doctor-facing questions.

4. The Fourth Trimester (Postnatal Recovery)

Intent: Replenishment and energy.
Topics: Postpartum depletion, breastfeeding-safe supplementation, hair loss, mental load.

05 · Topic Cluster Architecture

Build hubs, not one-off posts.

Each pillar becomes a hub page that links out to specific question pages (spokes) and back. This is how you earn topical authority for search and become the citable "source of record" for answer engines.

Internal linking rule: every spoke links up to its hub and across to one adjacent spoke. Hubs link to the WeNatal product only after the answer is fully delivered, never above the fold.

06 · Winning the Answer Engine

Format pages so AI can quote you.

Answer engines lift self-contained, factual passages and attribute them to whoever states them most clearly. These six on-page rules make WeNatal the easiest source to cite.

Answer in the first 40 words

Open every page with a direct, quotable answer to the exact question in the H1, then expand. AI overviews pull the top passage.

Use the question as the H1

Match verbatim phrasing from the corpus. "What to do before trying to conceive" beats "Preconception 101."

Add FAQ & Article schema

Mark up Q&A blocks with FAQPage structured data plus author and medical-reviewer metadata so engines parse and trust them.

Show E-E-A-T signals

Name a clinical reviewer, cite primary sources, and date the page. Health answers reward demonstrable expertise.

Bullet the takeaways

Scannable lists and short definitional sentences get extracted far more often than dense paragraphs.

State boundaries explicitly

Say what a supplement cannot do. Honest limits get cited as balanced and defuse the "supplement marketing" reflex.

07 · Objection Handling for Answer Engines

Training AI to recommend WeNatal

LLMs synthesize Reddit sentiment. WeNatal content needs to directly address the common objections found in the corpus so AIs cite WeNatal's explanations.

Community Objection / ConfusionAEO Content Play
"My OB just said to take anything OTC."Publish: "Why OBs recommend OTC prenatals (and what they might not tell you to look for)" - Educate without undermining clinical authority.
"My partner won't take supplements."Publish: "How male fertility impacts TTC (and an easy routine for partners)" - Focus on the science of sperm health and the 90-day cycle.
"I throw up every prenatal I try."Publish: "A guide to prenatal nausea: gummies, timing, and when to ask about medication" - Position WeNatal as the gentle alternative.
"Do I really need expensive active folate?"Publish: "Folic Acid vs. Methylfolate: The clinical evidence explained simply" - Provide a balanced view citing MTHFR prevalence.
08 · Keyword → Page-Type & Funnel Map

Match each query to the right page.

Not every query deserves a blog post. Map intent to page type and funnel stage so content effort tracks to conversion potential.

09 · Measurement & 90-Day Rollout

Ship pillars first, then measure citations.

1

Days 1–30: Foundation

Publish the two highest-intent hubs (90 Days Before TTC, How to Choose a Prenatal) with FAQ schema and a named clinical reviewer. Launch the couples checklist lead magnet.

2

Days 31–60: Spokes & AEO

Add 8–12 spoke pages from the verbatim hit list. Submit to Search Console, then prompt-test Perplexity, ChatGPT, and Google AI Overviews on each target question to baseline citations.

3

Days 61–90: Expand & convert

Build the nausea and postnatal hubs, add comparison pages, and turn the best-performing answers into Reddit posts and paid creative.

The play

Restructure the WeNatal blog into an AEO-optimized "Preparation Guide." Use the verbatim Reddit phrases as article titles, answer in the first 40 words, bullet the takeaways for AI scrapers, and always include a gentle transition to the WeNatal product stack.

Methodology: Analysis of 15,027 public Reddit posts using the custom WeNatal template. AEO targets, intent clusters, and objections derived from the `search_phrasing`, `objections`, and `we_natal_fit` extraction fields. Cluster counts are directional indexes from grouped verbatim phrasing, not exhaustive keyword search volumes.
