We pointed a custom extraction engine at 3,641 public Reddit posts across 10 astrology communities to rebuild MyStars' ad positioning, website copy, and answer-engine strategy from the audience's own words. The data disagrees with the current landing page in specific, fixable ways.

strong fit + explicit/urgent demand
the dominant emotional register
0.6% of posts. Price is not the problem.
MyStars' landing page sells a product: a chart wheel, highlights, a daily email, $7 a month. The audience is not asking for any of that. They post their chart into r/astrologyreadings or r/AstrologyCharts attached to a life question: "why can't I get anywhere in my life?", "do you see any stability?", "at my lowest of lows, anything interesting on my chart?" Then they wait for a stranger to maybe answer. Half of r/astrologyreadings, 50.8% of every post we pulled, is exactly this: a real chart, a real question, and unmet demand for someone who can actually read it.
That is the product MyStars already is. The copy just never says it. The ad and the hero should promise the answered question, not the rendered wheel.
The founder DM was right, but for a subtler reason. The critique was "you position on price, and astrology users are not price sensitive." The data confirms it: of 3,641 posts, only 21 raise a price objection. What people actually push back on is authenticity (263 posts) and accuracy (138 posts). The "$7, price of a coffee" framing spends the hero anchoring against an objection almost nobody has, while doing nothing about the two objections everybody has.
The positioning statement the data supports:
For people who keep asking their birth chart a real life question and getting silence or jargon back, MyStars is the personal chart reader that answers in plain language, every day, from your exact chart. Unlike sun-sign apps that recycle one message for millions, or free chart sites that hand you a wheel and no meaning, MyStars reads your actual sky and tells you what it says about the thing you are living through.
Three decisions inside that statement, each made by the data:
The largest segment (1,016 posts) already has their chart, posts it constantly, and wants interpretation. Combined with "seeking validation" it is the single biggest cluster in the corpus: 565 high-hook posts. Beginners (878) are lane two.
Enemy one: sun-sign apps that feel generic or cruel (Co-Star drew 158 mentions, 90 negative). Enemy two: free chart sites like astro-seek and astro.com that produce a wheel with "no accessible interpretation." MyStars sits exactly between them and the copy should say so.
461 posts are written in crisis and 508 seek comfort. These people are not a growth hack, they are the emotional truth of the category. Copy must be kind and non-fatalistic, and ads must never promise outcomes to someone in a bad place.
Current live copy on mystars.online, line by line, against the audience's verbatim language. Gap scored 1 to 5, where 5 means the line is answering a question nobody asked.
| You say | They say | Gap |
|---|---|---|
| "See your real natal chart, and what it actually means." | "what does my chart say about me" (62 verbatim search phrases). Close, but theirs is about them, not the chart. The chart is the means. | 2 |
| "Not a generic horoscope." | Only 50 posts complain about generic content. The bigger wounds: "Co-Star only exists to beat me up" and charts with no interpretation at all. | 3 |
| "Read by AI that understands astrology." | 25 posts distrust AI for astrology; ChatGPT "produced inconsistent rising and moon sign calculations." Leading with AI raises an objection unprompted. Lead with the reading, disclose the method. | 4 |
| "$7/month... for the price of a coffee." | 21 price objections in 3,641 posts. Meanwhile people describe professional readings as "$100 to $300" and out of reach. Cheap-anchoring undercuts perceived depth. | 5 |
| "Three things, in this order." (feature list) | "I'm struggling with putting the sign and planet together to form a complete understanding." They want synthesis, one story about them, not three deliverables. | 4 |

| Authenticity + accuracy objections | 401 | objection_type in [spiritual_authenticity, accuracy_skepticism] |
574 high-intent posts in r/astrologyreadings and r/AstrologyCharts alone: a chart, a question, and a wait. The core promise: your chart, actually read, every time.
The dominant register is validation. "I lose a lot of opportunities in life by playing small." People want their inner experience named. Copy that names feelings outperforms copy that names features.
251 pain phrases about confusion, 1,248 learning questions. "Trying to find a placement with all three is hard to look up online." The promise: one plain story about you, not three separate facts.
"Has anyone ever gotten positive readings from this app... it's never imparted anything hopeful without telling me I suck." The whitespace: specific and kind. Never cruel, never vague.
astro-seek (115 mentions) and astro.com are respected for data and faulted for interpretation: "provides raw chart data but no accessible interpretation." MyStars is the missing second half.
Authenticity and accuracy are the real objections. Show exact degrees, name real placements, admit what a chart cannot do. Precision is the trust signal this audience respects.
| Objection | Posts | Counter-copy angle |
|---|---|---|
| Spiritual authenticity ("can software really do this?") | 263 | Show the work: exact degrees, named placements, real transit timing. "We calculate the same chart a professional astrologer would, then read all of it." |
| Accuracy skepticism ("astrology predicts after the fact") | 138 | Never promise events. Promise patterns and self-understanding: "your chart shows tendencies, not verdicts." Honesty converts skeptics-adjacent buyers. |
| Generic content | 50 | Prove specificity instantly: the free Chart Highlights should quote the user's actual placements in the first sentence. |
| AI distrust | 25 | Do not lead with "AI" in the hero. Explain the method one scroll down: real ephemeris math first, language model second, astrology-trained throughout. |
| Price | 21 | Anchor up, not down. "A professional reading costs $100 to $300 and happens once. This is the same depth, every morning." |
| App fatigue / subscriptions | 21 | Email delivery is a feature: no app to install, no notifications engineered to spike anxiety. Say it. |
Willingness-to-pay signals are sparse in this corpus (most posts never discuss money), but the ones that exist point one direction. People who refuse to pay refuse because a professional reading is "$100 to $300" and out of reach, not because paying is wrong: "cannot afford chart reading (typical professional reading $100-$300)." People who pay, pay real money: $24.99 for a single discounted reading, $12 subscriptions, chat-by-the-minute psychic services described as charging "significantly."
The pricing story writes itself: the thing they want costs $100 to $300 per session and evaporates after an hour. MyStars sells the same category of specificity for $7 a month. That is not "cheap as coffee." That is the astrologer's reading, made affordable enough to have every morning. Same price, opposite frame.
Rewrites for the highest-leverage blocks on mystars.online. Each cites the evidence that shaped it. Headings are question-shaped where AEO benefits (see section 10).
| Block | Rewrite | Evidence |

| Section: how it works | H2: "What does my chart actually say about me?" Body leads with a direct answer, then the free chart wheel and Chart Highlights as proof, quoting the user's real placements in sentence one. | "what does my chart say about me": 62 verbatim search captures |
| Anti-Co-Star block (new) | H2: "Readings that are specific without being cruel." Body: "If an app has ever made your day worse with a one-line notification, that is not astrology, that is engagement bait. MyStars reads your full chart and tells you the truth kindly." | "Co-Star only exists to beat me up" r/CoStarAstrology |
| Pricing section | H2: "A $200 reading, every morning, for $7 a month." Body: "A session with a good astrologer runs $100 to $300, and it ends. Start free: your chart wheel and highlights cost nothing." | "cannot afford chart reading (typical professional reading $100-$300)": price anchors across r/astrologyreadings and r/tarot |
| Method block (replaces "AI that understands astrology" in hero) | H2: "Is this real astrology?" Body: "Yes. We compute your chart from the exact sky at your birth, the same ephemeris math professionals use, to the degree. Then a reader trained on real astrological method interprets all of it together. We will show you every placement we used." | 263 spiritual-authenticity + 138 accuracy objections; 25 AI-distrust posts |
Ten ad variants, each tagged to its messaging territory and traceable to source. Then three bigger positioning concepts for campaign-level creative.
Thousands of people post their birth chart online every week hoping a stranger will read it. MyStars reads yours in full, today, free to start.
Someone asked their chart that this week. It answered. Yours has an answer too: calculated from the exact sky at your birth, read in plain language.
Most chart sites hand you the pieces. MyStars strings them into one sentence you'll actually remember. See your chart free.
Specific without being cruel. MyStars reads your whole chart and tells you the truth kindly, every morning, by email. No push notifications engineered for anxiety.
Free chart sites give you a wheel and a shrug. MyStars reads every placement together and tells you what it means for the thing you're actually going through.
If you keep trying hard and getting undercut, your chart may name the pattern. MyStars reads it to the degree and says it in plain language.
Real ephemeris math, every placement visible, nothing hidden. Then a reading that uses all of it. That's the difference between astrology and content.
A session with a good astrologer costs $100 to $300 and ends after an hour. MyStars reads your chart with the same specificity daily. Chart and highlights free.
Real question, asked to a chart, by a real person this month. If you've ever wanted to ask your chart something like that, MyStars answers it, from your exact birth sky.
Sun, Moon, rising, and everything after: MyStars turns your placements into one readable story. Free chart, no card.
Three campaign concepts:
Big idea: every creative is a real (anonymized) question people ask their charts, followed by the kind of specific answer MyStars gives. Hook: "Why can't I get anywhere in my life?" Primary text: "People ask their birth charts real questions every day, then wait for a stranger to answer. MyStars reads your exact chart and answers in plain language, every morning." CTA: "Ask your chart. Free."
Big idea: position directly against the cruelty-as-depth trend in astrology apps. Hook: "Your astrology app shouldn't make you feel worse." Primary text: "Specific without being cruel. Full-chart readings, delivered like a letter from someone who actually looked." CTA: "See your chart, free."
Big idea: a trust campaign for the skeptical-adjacent. Creative shows an actual chart wheel with exact degrees, and copy dares the viewer to check the math. Hook: "Real ephemeris. Real placements. Real reading." Primary text: "We compute the same chart a professional would, to the degree, then read all of it. Free to verify." CTA: "Run my chart."
Question clusters from the corpus, with the format most likely to earn a ChatGPT or Perplexity citation. The site rewrites in section 08 double as the landing infrastructure: question-shaped H2s with direct answers in the first paragraph.
| Question cluster | Volume | Answer format to publish |
|---|---|---|
| Learning: "how to read my natal chart," houses, risings, placements | 1,248 | how_it_works guides: one page per placement family, plain language, worked examples |
| App comparison: "best astrology app," Co-Star alternatives | 916 | comparison_list: honest matrix including free tools; MyStars wins on interpretation depth |
| Chart reading: "what does my chart mean," interpretation requests | 875 | product_recommendation with a live free answer: chart form embedded in the page |
| Accuracy: "is astrology real / accurate / scientific" | 395 | myth_busting: honest treatment, patterns not predictions; earns trust and citations |
| Cost: "how much does an astrology reading cost" | 71 | cost_breakdown: $100-$300 human sessions vs app tiers; MyStars framed as daily depth |
The single highest-value page to publish first: "What does my birth chart say about me?" That phrasing, and near-identical variants, appeared 103 + 62 + 44 + 43 times verbatim in this corpus. Structure: the question as H1, a three-sentence direct answer, then a free chart form. It answers the top search phrase, feeds the answer engines, and starts the funnel in one page.

Kill the coffee anchor, adopt the astrologer anchor, lead ads with verbatim questions, and publish the "what does my birth chart say about me" page first. Every recommendation above traces to a post you can click.
